Comment #1 on issue 542169 by ***@chromium.org: chameleon: bluetooth
reconnect in a loop on peach_pi
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=542169

The repro step is to run audio_AudioBasicBluetoothRecord test on peach_pi
with test testing patch, and observe
watch cras_test_client --dump_s
showing the node number for bluetooth node increases.

Attach the debug log.
The problem seems to be a connection timeout.

The BT module send START_CMD trying to initiate audio, but there's no audio
to play on our end. As a result a few seconds later it send SUSPEND_CMD.

Attached btmon log for one iteration of the loop issue: HCI event at time
43.359468 disconnects the module.
I was misled by the earlier L2CAP disconnection request, which should be
irrelevant of the dev disconnection.

If this BT module works good with Daisy, we should escalate this to Marvell.

Comment #9 on issue 542169 by ***@chromium.org: chameleon: bluetooth
reconnect in a loop on peach_pi
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=542169

More info:
I found this is happening not only on chameleon(with OVC3860 bt module) but
also reproducible on:

- HMDX Rave:
http://www.amazon.com/HMDX-Portable-Rechargeable-Wireless-Speaker/dp/B00C5CN0CG
- Avantree Hive:
http://www.amazon.com/Avantree-Bluetooth-Headphone-Wireless-quality/dp/B00AVZO9A6

Test steps are simple:
a. In terminal execute 'btmon'
b. pair and connect peach_pit to BT speaker/headset
c. wait and watch btmon output
d. in about 30 seconds, BT device disconnect, and reconnect in a few seconds
e. (d) repeat automatically, forever

pbathini & katherine: I would like to try on a different peach_pit(or
peach_pit) device but unable to find one. Could you help re-test this with
a peach_pit and let me know if you can reproduce this? with both HMDX Rave
and Avantree Hive, thanks!

Comment #11 on issue 542169 by ***@chromium.org: chameleon: bluetooth
reconnect in a loop on peach_pi
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=542169

The peach_pi I have is on M48 7528.0.0 dev-channel.

As for FW version I got:
mwifiex_sdio mmc1:0001:1: driver_version = mwifiex 1.0 (15.68.7.p18)

In #9, no audio was played. I have experimented that if I start a2dp audio
right after connection established, than the BT module would stay
connected as long as the audio was playing. And after I stopped audio, the
same 'Disconnect Complete' HCI event was received in a few seconds.

Jimmy: can you help attach the branch/FW version of the Jerry device?

We are in the process of downloading OS images and trying to get these BT
devices to recreate issue at our end.

Meanwhile if possible could you collect hcidump and over-the-air log for
success as well as failure case.

As Nick mentioned, both Jerry and peach_pit use same chip+firmware. Also,
kernel bluetooth code is kept same across Chrome kernel branches.

From latest logs it's confirmed that the connection timeout is observed due
to clock
drift. We are in progress of debugging this issue.will keep you updated on
this.
